Actually i was using the alternate CD because i wanted to put it on it's
own partition. Anyway i am unable to to take a picture so i will write
down what i saw

Beta LiveCD? http://www.ubuntu.com/testing/intrepid/ibex . If so, can
you try booting with the 'quiet' and 'splash' options removed and take a
picture of your screen when it hangs so that we can see the exact
