I have the same problem with my Compaq Presario F700 (F756NR). I have to
keep a key press throughout the whole boot process for it to finish. I
also have noticed that when shutting down, i have to press a key once
for it to finish shutting down. I tried it without usplash and had the
same problems.

At certain point, it stopped. I had to press space key ( or any other) and keep
