At least in 12.10 I can open psd files. Looking at the source it seems
the dep on graphicsmagick was lifted as the psd plugin only requires
zlib.

i am stuck trying to implement a client's website from photoshop
designs. gimp fails miserably on layers, and someone decided that
enabling krita to open photoshop documents is wishlist not bug?
so much for open source alternatives. i don't know whether krita's
handling of the photoshop
graphicsMagick is in universe and can't be used by krita directly.
I will have to look into this, maybe we can come up with a solution.
