High X.org CPU usage is usually *not* an X server bug. The server is
simply responding to client demands, and if the client application is
driving X to hard, it can generate high CPU loads showing up against X.
So you need to figure out what client program is driving X so hard. See

I was plagued by this problem too on my new HP laptop + found that
reverting my NVIDIA accelerated graphics driver from version 177 to 173
helped.
Before I did this, about 75% of the times I logged in, Xorg would be
taking 100% of cpu right away. This was temporarily solved by pressing
ctrl-alt-F
same prob here. using lenovo's T61 (centrino vPro, CPU: C2D T9300, GPU:
GMA X3100, OS: intrepid @ x86_64).
i'm very sure, it's a flash-problem. the error occurs when i visit
flash-sites via firefox and/or when i start zattoo (P2PTV, this tool
needs flash!). IMHO the crash come casually.

I think it may be related with firefox because cpu usage goes crazy when
I run it and go to for example www.onet.pl page.
