Ditto! I took an update to 8.04 this morning and found my root password had suddenly changed. Fortunately I was able to re-set it using sudo. I'm pretty sure this is a patch/installation/update-type issue, as I was successfully able to 'su root' yesterday, before the update, and haven't made any
