I think that this bug cannot be resolved until ASUS opens its information
about ACPI implementation particularity in this laptop model or
disassembling windows ATK driver code. IMHO there is a hardware or BIOS bug
and ATK driver mitigates it but only in Windows. The only thing to do is to
ask ASUS
Well actually, hibernate halfs work.
I get the following error msg (seemed linked to bluetooth), that prevent the
computer to turn off:
btusb_intr_complete: hci 0 urb ebf9ce00 failed to resubmit (1)
But at the next start, the computer has able to restore my session, as
expected from an hibernatio
Yes, I did.
Nothing work: neither suspend (everything seems to go down - Bluetooth,
screen,... - but the computer never actually suspend, and I must turn it off
the hard way) or hibernate...

Åke,
Due to the time since the last update on this issue, can you confirm this
issue exists with the most recent Karmic Koala 9.10 Alpha release? ISO CD
images are available at http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/releases/karmic/ . If the
issue remains with Karmic it would be great to then also te

Also, sudo /etc/acpi/sleep.sh works for me - that is, laptop to sleep and
resumes correctly. Does it work for you?

Care to test and confirm if this issue remains with the most recent pre-
release of Jaunty 9.04 (currently Alpha4) -
http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/releases/jaunty/ . It contains a newer 2.6.28
based kernel. You should be able to test suspend via a LiveCD. Please
let us know your results. Thanks.

I confirm this bug. Same symptoms on my ASUS A7J.
I spent a huge amount of time trying hard to dig and solve this problem.
Suspend to ram did not worked neither on 7.10, 8.04 and 8.10 nor on some other
linux distributions such as Mandriva and Fedora.
