I tried the jackalope but it does'nt work

Have the same problem with my grand-mother's Acer Aspire 7720G (so I couldn't
do many tests).
It run Ubuntu 8.10 (Intrepid) up to date.
Video works fine on webcam, but webcam mic is not recognised (only one capture
device on alsa : hda-intel)
