Hi Henny,
This bug was reported a while ago and there hasn't been any activity in
it recently. We were wondering if this is still an issue? Can you try
with the latest development release of Ubuntu? ISO CD images are
available from http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/releases/lucid.

I re-installed Ubuntu 9.04 Alpha 6 i386 a few days ago.
This version works fine and boots all USB drives like before.
I then did a partial update yesterday.
It updated successfull, and this time it keeps mounting the USB drives on boot

Even with my crappy Asus M2A-VM that seems to be riddled

This contains kernel 2.6-30-5.

affect on this issue.
I noticed that when I plug in a flash drive, KDE recognizes both the
flash drive and the external USB drive. I don't know if this is a
result of KDE 4.2.3 or not.
I'd like to use this external USB drive
I am still having this problem. In general there seem to be problems
with USB devices with kernel 2.6.28-11 and later.
The system is very unstable and reboots for unknown reasons on a regular
basis.
This launchpad feedback system is almostcompletely unknown to me. Sure I

I installed 9.04 AMD64 final. Almost the same thing happens. My external USB
drives are not mounted.
However, when I added a Sandisk Microdrive with 4GB SDHC card, something woke
up and all drives were suddenly mounted and recognised again. The same thing
happens when I turn off - on one of my U
