gnome2-global menu was causing this crash for me. I removed it a while
ago, and now all is better.

I am using Ubuntu Jaunty 64bit, and get the same error when I try to
start Firefox-3.5(Segmentation fault). I installed Firefox-3.5 from
Synaptic. I also have xulrunner 1.9 installed.

Just to add some more information, i found out that the version of
[B]xulrunner[/B] being installed during alpha days was [B]1.8.1[/B] and that
obviously lead to segaulting apps if linked against more recent version of it,
such as 1.9.
So, uninstalling 1.8.1 and installing 1.9 should let
I followed fuhrysteve's command and it worked for me. Also crashing was
galeon. I've attached the gdb output. Turns out the complete
resolution was to search for xulrunner in synaptic and remove ALL
packages that made reference to version 1.8.x, even the dev ones. After
that action, FF3.5 and

I did it, i built a brand new machine with the alpha distribution and then
updated 'til final, this way i always got the 1.8.1 version that caused me lot
of segfaults with other apps as well, i

Confirming this on multiple x86-64 machines. FF3.5b4pre worked fine and
all of a sudden it stopped working. Purging everything doesn't work, nor
does removing the profile/extensions/plugins.

Same for me. Also on laptop it still works. Funny thing, when starting
with no .mozilla, firefox-3.5 isn't even able to create a fresh profile.
On every call:
