As said in the original bug report.
Anyway, any clues as to a yakuake patch in Jaunty? It still crashes
there, seemingly.

I agree, reopening. The bug still occurs in the Jaunty package, that one
should be updated. Jaunty does not have Qt 4.5.1 yet, so it is
"vulnerable".

Unusable is a bit exaggerated, but it is very easy for users to hit this
problem, yes.
FWIW, I'm told (but have not verified) that Qt 4.5.1 has fixed this as
well.

The Qt crash was fixed with Qt 4.5.1. (Still working to get this in some way
for Kubuntu 9.04 users aside from the Experimental ppa)
The yakuake fix has been released to the development version of Kubuntu 9.10,
in any case. (Current version in 9.10 is 2.9.6)

The underyling issue appears to be a race condition, i.e. the crash
depends on the timing of things. To explain, after changing the window
size, Yakuake used to update the Height and Width menus by clearing them
and then re-filling them with new actions. This used to work fine, but
in Qt 4.5 it can
I am also using amd64 kubuntu jaunty, and the bug only occured when changing
height, for me. But oh well :)
If I understand correctly, Yakuake contains a *workaround* for this. Maybe
status should only be set to "fix released" when the real bug is fixed in KDE
or Qt? Has the (real) bug already b
Regarding your updated description: The upstream fix mentioned above is
true for both width and height changes.

While this is indeed related to Qt 4.5, in KDE SVN revision 952380 I
introduced a away to avoid the crash that also happens to improve
general efficiency during window size changes. This change will be
released with the upcoming Yakuake 2.9.5.
The related KDE bug number is 189332.
