Using Karmic Beta and after enabling both Canonical Partner and
Medibuntu repos I cannot find acroread using Apt Show or Search.
Perhaps it's not been added to the repos yet. Hope to see it soon. Wish
list for a 64 bit package. Atter all, 64 bit computing is here now so
where are the 64 bit

Adobe requested it be like that as they view Acrobat Reader AND the
plugin as a single product. This is why there isn't a 64 bit coming for
Hardy as some dated libraries wouldn't allow the plugin to function
properly there. We will continue to work to gently nudge them in that
direction, but at

be required for standalone use.
