Sounds promising. If you'd be willing, I'd be interested in hearing how
the latest Karmic Alpha 9.10 kernels do. Karmic is based on a 2.6.31
kernel. ISO images are available at
http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/releases/karmic/ . Definitely let us know
your results. Thanks!

Still happening, though I must say I'm pretty confused.
I'm experiencing lots of oops, with occasional lockups. I can't even
guess what triggers them, I don't see a recurring behavior.
I noticed though that once I get a oops, I get notified the same one every
boot, until a new one happen.

@massimop, is possible for you to test with latest fully updated?
if the symptom still ocurrs, can you run this command from terminal
apport-collect -p linux-image-2.6.28-11-generic 364441
And could you also test the latest upstream kernel available that would
be great. It will allow additional
@pagun66: are you seeing the exact same issue? would it be possible for
you to report a new/different bug as you're seem to be using karmic ?
so we can check your logs and then dupe if needed.

This time it was a no-boot situation. Twice in a row, the screen would
freeze before getting to the log in screen.
On the third try, I went into Recovery mode, ran apt-get update and apt-
get upgrade to no apparent effect. I then ran "startx", which did get me
to a gui screen. The keyboard and mou

again and not open anything at all to see if it's being triggered by
these apps.
