Hi everybody,
Since the last comments on this bug we have had quite a few fixes in
mesa and various components and drivers of xorg which have solved
problems like this. Since the end of August, those fixes are now
included in Karmic and for me basic Blender usage is working for the
first time
Since I've still the issue the OP had, here is the new bug report
(against xserver-xorg-video-ati): LP Bug #426319

Samnsparky,
is this typed into terminal, is this an edit of the blender config file. Please

into the OpenGL issue and I will be able to upgrade to something higher
than Hardy. Heck, if I knew where to look, I would do it myself.

Hey! I have had a similar problem and I have a temporary workaround. I
believe that there there is a sacrifice of speed but I have not noticed
any problems.

I'm having the same problem, and it's not Blender, it's any OpenGL
program I use. (Radeon Xpress 200M here)
I quite sure that's a ubuntu issue, since I've tested the same versions
of xorg, mesa and blender in ArchLinux and this bug does not happen.

Blender - OpenGL windows behaving badly;
I can confirm this in Jaunty. Same version of Blender. This bug renders
Blender useless.

Is this bug even being looked at? I have had the same problem with
