Hm, if I force the installation to fail by creating an inaccessible
directory /var/lib/postgresql/, I do get the error message:

This patch does not make sense. You changed the error message and added
a second pg_Createcluster call, althoug the first one just failed. What
was the original problem here?

I installed the postgres package and it wasn't configured properly
but the error message didn't appear.
Purging and installing again didn't help.
I don't know the cause.
