Just tested it on Lucid with OOo from lucid-prosed, and it is working
quite responsive and much faster than bevor. My version of OOo:
OpenOffice.org 3.2.1, OOO320m19 (Build:9505), ooo-build 3.2.1.4, Ubuntu
package 1:3.2.1-6ubuntu2~10.04.1

Even though "upstream" appears in the title of this bug I can't seem to
find a link to an upstream bug report. Is there an upstream report?
I have had this issue for several years and can confirm its also occurs
in Lucid 32-bit. Disabling anti-aliasing as described in #27 makes the

Same issue here, Ubuntu lucid with x86_64 architecture. Impress is
terribly slow to move slides when AA is on.. Otherwise it's very fast at
the same task.

Same issue with OpenOffice 3.2.1 when anti-aliasing is turned on. No
issue when turning AA off. My environment; Ubuntu 10.04, compiz desktop
effects on, non-proprietary graphics drivers, ATI graphics card on
Thinkpad W500.

This was making impress completely unusable on my computers (one Core2
with ubuntu 10.04 AMD64, another pentium IV with ubuntu 10.04 32bits).
Disabling antialising did the trick.

Turning off anti-aliasing works for me on OpenOffice 3.2 on Ubuntu

Hey,
I just upgraded to 10.04 and got OOo 3.2 with it. Impress' speed is not
impressive. It's having a really tough time.
I have turned off anti-aliasing. It seems to be helping. The hardware
acceleration has no effect. I have an nVidia GTX 9500 card with nVidia
driver.

When I experienced this behaviour some weeks ago in OOo 3.2.0 (in Fedora
12), I got rid of the slow responses by renaming the /user folder in
~/.openoffice.org/3/ (e.g. to user.old). However the behaviour is back
now and I am not sure if doing the same renaming thing is working this
time.

Working with a 34 slide presentation with some graphics is a very time
consuming undertaking. Turning of AA makes no noticeable difference
here. Both Impress and Xorg try to use as much CPU as they possibly
can. Using 3.1.1 / build 9420.

It seems that the problem is much worse when the grid is displayed
(View->Grid->Display Grid). Perhaps there is a bad interaction between
the grid and anti-aliasing? Can anyone confirm?

It seems turning off AA makes the 'drag and drop' of slides fast and non
blocking, could we please ship OO.org by default with AA turn off until we find
out the real issue?
It will really improve the 'initial' experience and impressions of the users.
