have what you think is a similar issue open a new one rather, also using
in progress would suggest you are working on writing a fix for the issue

I'm not sure if it is the right thing to do but I've just moved the

I've been running Nautilus for over 2 months. It is using 1.4GB of

Same Problem here (Karmic, amd64). Nautilus uses almost all of my RAM
(3.3GB) and causes constant swapping after some heavy file copy
operations and about 48h of uptime.

I have this bug too, making me nuts. amd64 karmic 9.10. dual core amd,
ati 780G chipset. fully up to date.
memory usage in nautilis just keeps climbing, without doing anything.
goes way beyond 500megs, but i usually stop it there. should be 10 megs
or something.
surely not solved.

My system has 2GB of RAM and 4GB of swap. Nautilus is taking almost all

I have something similar, but much, much worse: Right now Nautilus uses
around 1.2 GB of memory... It's a 64-bit system, which would raise usage
a bit, but... Ouch.

I had been running the system for 24hrs and noticed memory usage nearly
10% so i did a nautilus restart and got the following error:
$ nautilus -q && nautilus

Nope , not fixed.
Right now , nautilus is using 195MiB memory [~10%] and i'v been running the
system continuously for 24 hrs.
Run the valgrind from the start of the sssion and get back after 1 day
:)

Pedro , i was thinking it would produce too much irrelevant info... But
,Yeah i'll do that.
Also i think this was fixed by the latest nautilus update. I'll leave it
as "Incomplete" and will invalidate this bug if I'm not having problems
within the next week or so :)

well there's no way we can say in which part you should be start running
nautilus under valgrind, couldn't you just leave it running for that
hours? there's no other way to do that.
