I found the trick.
I opened the properties of a script and in the "Open with" dialog I found that
it was set to the last item in the list, in some others script no one item was
set. Just to try, I set Open With Gedit in a script, now all my bash scripts
are opened automatically.
That is weird, b
tried that in my account, not the same here.
other account i will be testing until tomorrow

More exactly the behavior is:
If the string is #/bin/bash (no ! ) the script is still executable from
a terminal or even from the "Run" button in Nautilus, but if I press the
"show" button Gedit is not opened, but neither the script is executed.
If the string is #bin/bash (no !/ ) when I press
I found new infos.
I created a new account and I tried to create a new script, the problem
persists on a new script and as well trying to open a script in the old
account, but if I quit the string #!/bin/bash the problem disappears no matter
if the file is or not executable.

Yes Pedro, I understand that is not reproducible, as Sebastian said before
probably is due to some local settings and I definitively don't know which set
is responsible for this.
The only I know is that is not the language settings, because I had the same
issue two years ago on Feisty and Gutsy
Any news regarding the reproduction of the bug? do you have any set of
steps that reproduce the issue? is this reproducible with a new user
created on your system? BTW i cannot reproduce it here either.

the bug doesn't happen there, it might be config specific or happening
only in some cases, we have thousand of small issues happening only to
some people so that's a low importance bug

I've done the update from the update manager and then I've recorded this short
video of what happens.
Tha same happens if I set Nautilus to open directly the scripts with gedit
istead of "asking before".
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JJUlPQI4Ju4
Nautilus is 1:2.28.0-0ubuntu5
Gedit is 2.28.0-0u
Thank you for helping to make Ubuntu better. I am not able to reproduce
your bug. Please update to the latest version of all packages and see if
the bug still occurs. Please check that gedit is installed and that
scripts can be opened using the File menu in gedit. If the bug still
occurs please add
