You don't have a /var/log/apt/term.log.1.gz? The logfile you've attached is clearly truncated, because something had to happen /before/ this to put grub in an inconsistent state, and /var/log/apt/term.log.1.gz is where the standard rotation policy would put this old log. If the log is really not
