Bizarre, we have also been hitting this dis-functioning Num-lock
problem multiple times. Each time, it takes us ages to find out it is
due to this Mouse-Keys feature in the Universal Access category. We
are pretty sure we have never enabled it by ourselves, so it is either
enabled by default, or
