I went ahead and installed Gutsy Kubuntu on my old PC and it has this same video card. 3D Rage Pro AGP and it still doesn't let 3d work. the restriced drivers don't even pick up that it is an ATI card. Just thought i would go ahead and add to this -- Dapper install fails using ATI Mach64 Rage

I opened the aforementioned legacy system (for the first time in several years) to examine the video card visually. It is in fact an ATI All-In- Wonder card; the ATI copyright is 1997. Although the card plugs into a PCI slot, the video chip on the card is labeled 3D RAGE PRO AGP 2X. (ATI made

I confirm this problem with this card. Error occurs when booting from Live CD (I didn't try to install). Knoppix (4.0.1/2 don't remember last number) does work just fine on the same system, with as only boot command desktop=icewm to speed things up. The card uses the AGP slot and there is a Voodoo
