I went ahead and installed Gutsy Kubuntu on my old PC and it has this
same video card. 3D Rage Pro AGP and it still doesn't let 3d work. the
restriced drivers don't even pick up that it is an ATI card.

I retried to boot Live-CD on another system, with same card but PCI
version. This time it worked. Maybe it has something to do with AGP?
