Thank you for responding. I am still having difficulties here. At first I had no sound output from Ubuntu 9.10, although the soundcard was good (it played fine in Windows and in Jaunty Jack). I found instructions for upgrading the Alsa 1.0.20 file to 1.0.21. That worked to get me sound from inter
