Before running the installer again, I checked the /boot file system on the USB
stick:

This is the file system error I got, probably for my ext2 /boot file
system. "Probably" because the dialog does not say
After the crash I was still in the install dialog, and went back to the
partition setup. I could not modify any partitions (again, advanced
manual setup). I clicked back to have it re-read the partition table and
got this crash (probably because of the previous crash):
