I invite all of you to join efforts on the blueprint.
And here's something to add:
CustomCommand way is working for me, but not perfectly. It somehow interferes
with my wireless network being handled by NetworkManager. It completely stops
to work at that boot up. :) I have static IP on this inte
I hope I've found the way to achieve this.
You can add new command into GDM menu. Just add this lines to /etc/gdm/gdm.conf
:
CustomCommand0=/usr/bin/amixer -c 0 sset Master playback mute
CustomCommandText0=Mute
CustomCommandLabel0=Mute
CustomCommandLRLabel0=Mute
CustomCommandTooltip0=Mute
CustomCo
The issue can be solved at least by adding some sound volume control on
the GDM screen. It is not required to be bound to sound volume
controlling buttons/sliders/etc. on a laptop itself. (Never the less,
such a binding would be appreciated :) )
For now I just always check the sound volume before

I see no need to ask more questions, confirming.
Made it an upstart bug because I think this is where the order of loading stuff
at boot happens, was on Ubuntu.
