I'm getting duplication on my system as well - if it were *only* duplication it wouldn't be horrible! The duplicate is displayed in lieu of another notification icon - today I have two sound icons and no network icon. Yesterday it was power that was duplicated. -- Notification area is glitchy

More description on the bug: (I am using HP dv4-1540us.) Here's the typical scenario when this bug almost always affects the panel -- After removing AC power, I close the laptop lid (to suspend the OS) and then open the lid again after some time. That is when the power icon starts showing on AC
