This error also occurs on my HP mini 110 running ubuntu 10.10.

Also having this issue in Kubuntu Maverick 10.10 (KDE 4.5.1), usually
just prior to the KDM appearing, but sometimes, it actually *stops* the

Actually, I have the same problem and before I got that, I have updated
the initramfs package from the Update Manager. I think this update
screws the whole system and shows a deceitful message related to Glib.
