I remember working through this 4 years ago when I was focused more on
the power management. The aim at the time the aim was just to get some
better consistency;

"Suspend" is technically more correct than "Sleep" and I'd prefer that.
But the most important thing is that whatever name it is called, it is
called with the same name everywhere. Otherwise it is just confusing.

As mentioned in dup Bug #661383 , sleep is already used in gpm
preferences.
I'v mentioned this bug in gnome-design, and Upstream is interested in
making this change.

I completely accept that sabdfl's comment has made this bug popular and
important :) but I had deleted the branch from lp. Fortunately, the branch
still exists on my machine (undamaged) so I am pushing again.

The issue is what Ted described, launchpad doesn't handle documentation
translations right now and ubuntu has no easy way to do changes in the
documentation translation out of doing source upload for each
translation changes, so it would be much easier to convince upstream of
the interest of the ch

making a quilt patch, and pushing the revision into the branch. Doing
that now.

Bilal, No this has not been fixed in Maverick.
This bug has stalled since:
- It needs to be reworded in gnome-power-manager , gnome-session .
- This needs fixing upstream first to enable proper translation support. If we
change this is Ubuntu it will break translations.
