Hi. I probably found the reason of this strange behaviour. I must have
hit a Ctrl+T by accident, and that set it up to group by thread mode.

I also have this issue in evolution 2.30.3-1ubuntu6 under Maverick
64bits My system is all in english so I don't think this is a
language related issue...
I noted that the problem occurs when any kind of sort is used,
regardless the field used (by date, by from, by subject...)

The problem seems to be in Ubuntu install procedure. I installed Ubuntu
using local language locale (Czech) and then changed one of accounts
(mine) to US. Other users using original language settings don't have
problem with mail sorting of evolution. So my hypothesis is the sorting
problems are

also use evolution and that works fine for me. i don't have any issues
on sorting.

Perdo, I understand your copypaste approach, but I don't see any way to
document this bug is reproducible. It is permanent issue on my desktop
and I documented it by screen-shot here. My speculation is it may be
caused by quite high number of mails in my Inbox. Let's see if other
