I am having the same problems as Peter. I am however remoting into my
Ubuntu workstation. I think if I do it directly it all works. At least
the last time I tried it did. I will try again in a little bit.

I am having this problem with a fresh install of 10.04, fully updated.
This problem ALWAYS occurs. Rebooting doesn't fix it. I have all
permissions set in my account. I can't mount anything or reboot from the
GUI, I have to su and do it from the command line.

I also have made sure I am allowed to mount FUSE file systems in the
permissions dialog. This "not authorized" error appears at random

As you can tell, I just ran the "appport-collect" command mentioned

This bug was reported a while ago and there hasn't been any activity in it

to mount via nautilus nor palimpset. Still getting "not authorized".

I have a similar problem, I cannot access my external USB hard drive, or
my Windows 7 partition. Sometimes rebooting fixes the problem, sometimes
not.

This was my SD Card and my Windows 7 partition. I am able to do other
stuff on the computer.
I rebooted the machine, which I had to do a hard reboot because Restart
and Shutdown would only log me off and now everything seems to be
working fine.
