I have the same problem with firefox and chrome. midori runs real slow, not
sure if related. I started with upgrade to 10.04 64bit, tried fresh install 64
bit and then tried 32bit. Same behavior with all three.
I also have the ATI Radeon x200.

Thank you for reporting this to Ubuntu. Sometimes Firefox profiles can
become corrupt and/or extensions can conflict. Could you please try
this with a new profile and see if the problem still exists? You do not
need to delete your old profile to test. If this helps, you might want
to try to dis
1. I think Firefox is the only application where I have seen this problem.
However, I always run
Firefox maximized, so I'm not sure if I would have noticed the problem
somewhere else on
the desktop.

Nope .Once again I have been proven wrong. The display still
appears garbled occasionally.

One of Lucid's pre-release updates must have corrected this problem.
The display is now working as expected. I'm not sure which of the
updates corrected this problem.but THANKS!

This appears to have been caused by my changing a preference setting
from "normal" to "extra" in:
Preferences -> Appearance -> Visual effects
I have changed the setting back to "normal" will post if I see any more
garbled displays.
