I assume I'm having this same problem with Gutsy (x86 server) and an
orinoco silver card. I would very much like an investigation into this
issue.

Can all those experiencing this issue attach the following text files:
sudo lspci -vvvnn lspci.txt# Note: sudo allows for capabilities to be
captured also.
sudo dmidecode dmidecode.txt # Note: sudo is required for this because
/dev/mem is read.
lshal hal.txt
Also, please submit dmesg
lspci give me an error when I try to use the w flag, I did sudo
lspci -vnn lspci.txt instead
also, I couldn't run lshal because the HAL package is not installed
and I have no way to install it.
I will attach files in a later message. For now, I thought I'd record
my screen (as best I could) at
I guess I read vvv as wv. This is the correct lspci.

Here are the files.
All of these files are with the Orinoco card out of the laptop.
Inserting the Orinoco card into the laptop makes no change. I can
enter sudo modprobe orinoco_cs and it works - when I call lsmod,
both orinoco and orinoco_cs are loaded, but the card is not detected
by iwconfig,
This bug has had no activity for a considerable period. This is a check
to see if there is still interest in investigating this bug report.
