Yes, you need to go in the terminal and start pitivi as Jean-Francois mentionned. -- PiTiVi 0.13.4 on Ubuntu 10.04 error! https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/574092 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list

Hi. If I encounter any errors about "GStreamer" in future, I will attempt to provide the log requested by Jean-Francois. I'm not sure how to run PiTiVi how Jean-Francois described. Do I have to go into the Ubuntu Terminal to do that? Again, I really appreciate your help. -- PiTiVi 0.13.4 on U

All those issues (because there are more than one in this report) either already exist in upstream bugtracker or aren't really bugs: * Youtube not accepting theora 1.1 : their problem, not ours. You seem to have found a format that works. * Having a "optimised for youtube" rendering format : sinc

Thanks for your help. It's a nice community here. :) Yes I get black bars both vertically AND horizontally. I have so far found a flash format that seems to work with YouTube, albeit with some video compression, but it does have the advantage of making the final file size smaller and this makes

Pitivi/gstreamer will use whatever version of the libtheora package you have installed on your system. This means that you need to downgrade to libtheora 1.0 by either sticking to older distros or compiling 1.0 by hand. Changing pitivi versions will not change the fact that your theora videos are

Thanks for your reply. How do I get PiTiVi to use libtheora 1.0 and NOT 1.1? If that's not possible, can I download and install the older version of PiTiVi? I don't like this newer version. If I save my video as Flash video, my video ends up playing in a small box. Sometimes when you try to re

The reason why you didn't have this problem with the previous version of pitivi in Ubuntu 9.10 is because 9.10 shipped with libtheora 1.0, not 1.1. -- PiTiVi 0.13.4 on Ubuntu 10.04 error! https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/574092 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu

You need to be more specific about the error. Without precise repro instructions, this is not helpful in knowing what happened. It needs to be consistently reproducible, and ideally with debug logs. You could create debug logs by running pitivi like this, for example: PITIVI_DEBUG=*:5 GST_DEBUG=2
