If it is related to this (which I think it is), I have tested on maverick beta.
And it still has the same issue.

I'm having the same issue on Ubuntu 10.04 on a Toshiba Portege R705. It
happens when I transfer data through the network (eg, backing up my
computer), while I'm surfing the net, and while it is idle. It occurs
quite frequently actually, a few times a day. It happens during data
transfer for sure
For testing purposes, I am trying to download ubuntu's iso.
As Igor suggested, I tried manually assigning the IP address but I still
get random disconnects while downloading the file.
I attach the syslog at the time of disconnect, where you can see:
wlan0: deauthenticated from 00:1e:e5:7a:44:60
I am seeing the exact same issue: random disconnects in an Aspire One
ZG5.
Is this related to https://bugzilla.kernel.org/show_bug.cgi?id=13892 ?

I'll keep monitoring it and update as ne

Hi, could you please try using a manually assigned IP address instead of
dhcp and see if it helps with your issue?

Hi. I've got exactly the same problem, but I don't think this is limited to
Ubuntu. I'm running 10.04 now, but had the RC of Windows 7 running previously,
and that had the same issues...as you point out, it seems to occur mainly
(although not exclusively) when large files are being transferred.

but sometimes I have to tell network-manager to disconnect, wait a few
