The spew is from the imon kernel driver, and can probably be rate-
limited. I'll add an entry to my TODO list.

With the upgrade to Maverick I had the more or less the same problem
again and it is a hardware problem in that sense that the VFD screen is
not configured properly. When I configure it right the errors are gone.
Thought that is not what I was reporting here, I was reporting that my
syslog got blow
Yes I understand that my problem is a hardware problem, I guess partly
heat, but that is not what I am reporting. My problem here is that the
syslog file becomes not readable because it explodes in size with 130
rows per minute added. I do not know if lirc is putting these messages
in the log file
Jarod thinks that these types of failures are either with a problem with
the usb controller, or a flaky imon device. In other words, a hardware
problem. Can you investigate that angle and report back please?
