I have had a call go through to echo bot at one point (I also spoke to the
guy in charge of it and apparently it had been out of order for some time).

thanks for the bug report. but the version of empathy your using is not
from Ubuntu repositories so we dont support that version. feel free to
report any other bugs you may find.

Oh but the problem was there with the Ubuntu repository as well. I just
installed the other package because it was supposed to maybe solve the
problem.
I will promptly install the official version again.

make calls without adding *it* to your contact list.
