can you please run a memtest from the liveCD, then run a s.m.a.r.t. test for
your Hd drive.
Please attach here this files
/var/log/syslog
/var/log/dmesg
/var/log/kern.log
/var/log/Xorg.0.log
and all the files in /var/log/installer directory

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. While we appreciate the difficulties you are facing, it
would appear that the CD image (ISO file) you downloaded could be
corrupt. There is an easy way to verify the integrity of the Ubuntu ISO
files you download.
