Ninjagecko: The fix in the Ubuntu forums does work, but you need to use
the alternate ISO image instead of the normal desktop one.

I would volunteer to fix this in edgy if someone could point me in the
right direction. I'm a developer but I have minimal experience with os-
level hacking on linux. I can fiddle with initrd images but I don't know
what was missed / broken to cause this bug.
Anyone care to give me a few clues so

Yes, I got the same problem here when trying to install from a USB
stick. I was already wondering why exactly the same thing did work for
Dapper and not for Edgy...
