This is happening to me for the first time in Kubuntu 13.04. However in
a laptop with the same distro version Libreoffice is working fine. A

to open any libreoffice instance, this package stays in memory and seems
to do
Something else must have changed. Still on 1:3.3.2-1ubuntu2, libreoffice
now starts up; the first start of the first program (in my case
lowriter) took quite a while, but anything else after that just works
fine. localc gave me the hint that Because the current formula
separator settings conflict
On 1:3.3.2-1ubuntu2, the progress bar of the splash screen now fills up
to about 50% (noticeable HDD activity!). Anything else is like as it was
back in 1:3.3.1-1ubuntu3.

No. Pure KDE. I'd like to have as few Moores' Law Compensators installed
as possible.
I don't know. If that is enabled by default: Yes. In any other case: No.

Bzzz, marking this back to New based on your response. For future
reference you can manage the status of your own bugs by clicking on the
current status in the yellow line and then choosing a new status in the
revealed drop down box. You can learn more about bug statuses at
Unfortunately, it does not. Also, no further console output is
generated.

Have you tried running eg. lowriter from the terminal and seeing what
output you get?

No output at all. Tested with lowriter, localc and lobase. With and
without sudo, while testing on sudo yields much more HDD activity until
the splash screen appears. After that, same results as above.
