Hm, the issue is solved (there are other problems in Gutsy, but they're

On 2.6.20-3 I got the following error message:
[ 2402.119000] si3054: cannot initialize. EXT MID =
but the card seems to work without any special options, the only moderately
weird part would be modem subdevice controls in volume-control.

Whoa. Just tried this:
modprobe snd-hda-intel probe_mask=1
And it worked. I think the si3054 is related to the modem on my board. Judging
by the lack of any word about the modem in lspci I guess the same card is
controlling both sound and modem.
