I can't reliably reproduce this bug. But it always happened in
combination with SQLDeveloper from Oracle. I can work with it for hours
without this problem coming up. Sometimes it comes up during normal
usage of the app, other times when closing it (but not always).

Yes, the problem of disapearing window titlebar (and window border) just
happened today, with the system updated this morning. I closed an
application (also the SQL Developer from Oracle, which is a Java
application). But this time there was no error dialog as before (I did
not deactivate it), the

The mesa 7.10.1 - 7.10.2 update looks pretty noteworthy. xorg-server's
upgrade from 1.10.0 - 1.10.0.902 is notable as well. In both cases
though the changes are *mostly* upstream bugfixes. On other bug reports
I've had some suspicions of a regression related to one or the other of
those.

Has this freeze occurred more times since this one on the 13th? (How
many times, roughly?)
Can you upload your /var/log/dpkg.log? If it did just started coming up
recently, that might provide clues about what recent package uploads
could be to blame.
