I apologize on not returning a message sooner. This problem seems to
have fixed itself after a few days of use. Maybe some update fixed it; I
don't know. But Unity 2d works fine now.

What application(s) does this happen with? I tested with notepad and it
runs fine when launched from the dash. If possible, can you point to the
installer for the application so that we can easily test and confirm the
issue?
