Hi Alden,
Yes, I had seen your posts, and I had tried a couple of times within a day
or so of doing the upgrade, un-installing and re-installing to no avail,
but, after the last post from the help desk, I ran another update in
Synaptic, then used a command line install (Only because they wanted
Hi,
Not sure if there has been any updates, but I had no error messages this
time, although I usually use Synaptic, I assume I would still have seen the
error?
Thanks,

reinstalled Samba4, and tried to connect to MS-Windows drives, and were
Hi,
Yes my upgrade to 11.04 completed successfully, however, everything to do
with Samba4 returns Exiting with error code 1. I tried re-installing, but
to no avail. Since then, I have used completely removed Samba4, and
installed Samba (2.5 or 6?) from the repo's instead, this seems to have

HI,
I used the synaptic package manager to completely uninstall Samba4 after
my upgrade. It had been installed with the previous version of Ubuntu.
I was even geting Samba4 errors when re-installing gEDA and gResistor,
which slhould not have happened. I refreshed the synaptic package
For me, the repo was showing 3.x, not 4.x. I think that is the problem
especially if it comes from third-party repos as they get shut off during
dist-upgrades. Otherwise, the trunk is not being updated with 4.x

Yes it did. Seems the repository did not have all the Samba4 files and y.x
was conflicting. I uninstalled Samba comoletely and it works fine.
Now, to figure out what happened with Samba.
