This bug is still relevant in 12.04 release. Default smart placement
of windows and using ctrl+alt+T to spawn terminal windows ALWAYS spawns
windows in upper left corner.

Rada, if you still get new windows overlapping two workspaces then we
should reopen this bug. Though it would be fixed by a fix for bug 874146
so could become a duplicate of that.
