I saw this behavior with catalyst 11.5 (fglrx 8.850) on HD 4290. I
updated to catalyst 11.7 (fglrx 8.872) and at the same time updated to
flash 11 beta.
After restarting firefox I still had the slow performance, so I have to

This seems to happen only if I run on battery. Changing the Powersave
settings in ATI Catalyt Control center to "performance" seems to help.
