Tested with oneric beta 1, I believe that's the new compact wireless driver,
and got about the same results as before:

I think the first test was incorrect because I used the sta driver and the
unload command (wluload) did not remove it so I got both driver working
which means it's useless.
I didn't find anything unusual in the logs and yes I was testing it with
standard power saving on.

some new patches in it and still time to get stuff into oneiric. So, if you

Did the oneiric live image you tested have the kernel 3.0? I see that
kernel 3.0 was published in oneiricon 2011-06-09[1]. So if the live
image was fairly recent it would have it.
It might be easier for you to do testing with an installed 3.0-rc
mainline kernel[2].

I noticed that rt2800usb actually occasionally works on Natty with
rt2870sta blacklisted. I did need to remove an reinsert the usb DWL-G122
rev.E USB stick a few times to get the net actually up, and the

Tried to install the new V3.0 and it performing about same as in the tests I
did for the downgraded firmware so no regression but not improved either.

O.k, did the tests on natty.
The attached file contain the result before and after replacing the firmware. I
copied the results as is from the terminal.

My command did not quite work as expected.
It does seem to work better then the old one (the downgraded version?).
But I still get delays and things generally seems less stable, overall I
think the rt2870sta is preforming better then both.
