After my post on 2011-09-02, it had not frozen again. For me it seems
solved. I didn't try to rollback my changes to check if it freezes
again... I am afraid to do that and get the bug back :)

I have to correct myself: Actions taken above did improve, but NOT
resolve the issue. Freezes still occur every now and then. Performance
is rather bad as well, but could be because of the weak signal anyway.
The AVM-Router will soon be replaced by my own one that runs dd-wrt as

It seems restricting the Router (AVM Fritz!Box Fon WLAN 7140 SL) to WPA2
only resolved the issue for me (the router has a rather strange option

Reinstalled everything and keep the original kernel 2.6.38-11 (x86 64).
Enabled the pre-released updates + unsuported updates as well as applied

I tested it running from the livecd only and it never freeze from there.
Is there a difference between it installed or running from the cd?
