staedtler-przyborski, this bug was reported a while ago and there hasn't
been any activity in it recently. We were wondering if this is still an

release of Ubuntu? ISO images are available from
According to this log kernel 3.0.9 should contain a fix for the

Title:
I'm sorry to tell that I can't verify if kernel 3.0.9 solves the
regression or not.
As the stick showed the same errors after installing kernel 3.0.9 as
mainline build, I've done a crosscheck with Ubuntu 11.04 (where the
stick always worked). Even there no frontend attached.
Seems the stick

Would it be possible for you to test the latest upstream kernel? It
will allow additional upstream developers to examine the issue. Refer to
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelMainlineBuilds . Please test the release
candidate kernel versus the daily build. Once you've tested the
upstream kernel,
Im sorry neither kernel 3.1rc9 nor 3.1.daily (3.1.0-999.201110171146)
did solve the problem
As I've written I've tried too latest v4l git. So either the problem is
in v4l itself - wrong frontend selected - or somewhere else.

This issue appears to be an upstream bug, since you tested the latest
upstream kernel. Would it be possible for you to open an upstream bug
report at bugzilla.kernel.org? That will allow the upstream Developers
to examine the issue, and may provide a quicker resolution to the bug.
If you are
I'll try my best. But as currently bugzilla.kernel.org is unresponsive

If the stick was first connected to Ubuntu 11.04 (where it works) and
then attached to Ubuntu 11.10 I get a different dmesg output from Ubuntu
11.10.
But nevertheless it doesn't work.
What makes me uncertain that linux (or v4l) is the culprit...
1. the stick worked on a ubuntu 11.0 daily
