I'm marking this bug as fixed, since on Hardy we don't use fixed
resolutions on the xorg.conf anymore, and it seems that the bug was
recognizing correct values during install. If you can reproduce it with
Hardy, feel free to reopen. Thanks!

I'm very sorry there's not been much reply on your bug until now. The
good news is that a lot of work has been done on monitor resolution
autodetection issues for Gutsy, and it's likely your issue has been
solved, particularly bug 27667. If not, we've also added a new GUI
Screen

Can you predict when or if this will be fixed? I have submitted all
information asked for (2.5 months ago), and there are two duplicates
that are stalled because of undecided and needs info.
