Hi, After EVMS was dropped as a supported tool in Ubuntu 7.10, I switched my system to pure mdraid + lvm. I'd had this (and other) problems with EVMS, so I'm actually glad support was dropped as straight LVM is rock solid for me. I may have been hit by something similar to what's described here:
