FWIW, the wireless network card (HP EliteBook 6930p) is NOT Broadcom at
all. Here's the correct information: Intel Corporation PRO/Wireless 5100
AGN [Shiloh] Network Connection. Even with Linux 3.2.0-20-generic-pae,

I've tried to reproduce this with my Vaio laptop. The Inspiron that had
problems used a Broadcom wifi card, as does another laptop that can
reproduce this.
The OP uses Intel wifi drivers however...
