the internal microphone is just not picking up anything. Camera issues
were fixed after moving lv4l1compat.so from its new location back to

In my Lenovo Ideacentre K330 the microphone does not work under 12.04,
REGARDLESS of whether I rely on the USB-based Logitech Quickcam
IM/Connect internal mike, OR I use a cell phone headset plugged into the
mike jack on the front of the computer. Anyway, why should it matter.
Mike doesn't work, p
@iniquiTrance You can use any mini-jack (headphone, speaker set, etc.)
als long as you stick it in the microphone socket (there is a switch
inside the socket).
BTW what's up with all the duplicates? Some seem to be other problems,
others are for really old releases and they are all older than this
@miegiel
I don't have an external mic to check if it would appear when plugged
in. But otherwise, sounds like the same problem. Everything was working

I opened sound (settings) and I don't have a microphone listed under the
input tab either. However a microphone does appear when I plug in an
external mic. For some reason it doesn't switch to the built in mic (as
happens in the output tab when you plug-in / unplug your headphone).

Same bug with Asus k50c. I saw the similar bug with my laptop running

I have the same problem with 12.04 running on Lenovo Ideacentre K330.
Also, the Logitech IM/Connect Quickcam does not work properly the Cheese
app seems to lock up, and the system cannot capture sound with the
built-in mike. Works perfectly in Windows 7, of course.
